Again we’re going to go back to the strange results comment. At 25 I have a DT get over 97% 0f defense snaps. That’s well below 40 -45 ? So imo the comment is generalized and simplified.

The AI playing a qb at oline was an extreme example but like in the op its an out of position player being selected by the AI mostly due to skill not weight in pounds. As I like strong intelligent and disciplined oline and QBs.

Every one plays this game different so using what I am saying to your advantage is up to you. Same as not using it. But calling it strange is what I wanted to try to clarify and just in case anyone else wants to try something different.....It’s just a algorithm I am showing how to use it .

Having equal players in talent makes using fatigue settings a advantage. An injured but playable player can use it if ratings become close. Reducing injuries and fumbles are hypothetical advantages but comebacks could be thrown in as well.

As if the right guy at the right time is less tired late in the game then I see an advantage . If he’s not on the field then clearly you pushed it too far. But using 40-45 is too high for big guys unless you use overrides. Possibly exposing pointless penalties, injuries and tired guys.

Still lost sorry, I'm sure it makes perfect sense but I'm not sure how based on the OP.

Fatigue settings in the 30s means having deeper depth charts or else the A.I. picks. Why would you use low fatigue scores during the regular season? The goal is to use your best players the most and not have random A.I. substitutions.

I've never once in hundreds of seasons had a QB sub in at oline so clearly you do things way differently



Rotating players by using low fatigue settings is a valid strategy (for certain positions) where you have quality in depth, it then keeps your players fresh throughout the game and therefore able to dominate a tiring team in the latter stages of a match.

For example, if you have one stud RB and little depth, have the fatigue set to 50-60 to keep the RB in the game as much as possible. If you have several good rushers you may want to operate an RB by committee approach then lower the fatigue setting to 30-40 and the carries will be shared out.

Also, (particularly in BETA), where you tend to get more sustained drives. Your D will get gassed quicker than the Offense, therefore you need to keep your fatigue settings lower to keep your team fresh. This means you have to build deeper rosters and carry utility players who can play a variety of roles. So, OL players will generally fatigue slower than DL etc


EDIT: And Ray appears to be talking about how you set a players weights effects how a Head Coach decides who replaces who if your depth chart runs dry. Simple answer is to carry plenty of options at each position.

Its like this guy at 4 pounds heavier than a QB getting the nod when nobody else was slotted. Yes he has 37 scrambling and 30 at another related skill. Also Mobile but it was his size that had him slotted by the AI. A RB could have been picked being 3 pounds less but I bet their skills were a little worse than his.

Really this whole team has had only one guy for each position on the chart (a shallow chartered imo). With starters receiving the majority of snaps and when someone is not available the AI does a fine job of selection. Due to the way my player weights are set. Yet everyone except qb, dB, and wr are under 40 fatigue level.

Can anyone guess why the sim pulled in FB#1 a few times in the game into the rushing back (He is not in the HB depth chart) ? A couple of them were 2/1/2 plays where the sim then put RB#2 into the FB spot? IMO this player should never be pulled into HB spot unless other players were injured in-game

I have all positions set to 30 on fatigue
Rushing stats
RB#1 - 12 rush
RB#2 - 12 rush
RB#3 - 8 rush
FB#1 - 4 rush
Not sure how many pass routes they may have been involved with

Ok all that to question how does the fatigue actually work? Do I need to run a higher fatigue setting? I have it at 30 to help spread the load for injuries and for the most part it does seem to help. However in late game situations my FB is NOT the guy I want rushing, especially when the sim then pulls the #1 or #2 HB into the play as FB???
Also this has happened right after a punt/kick so the players should have rested yes? Although on the punt HB#3 was the punt return so He may have been winded
Any suggestions?

Emulate how Ray does player weights so you won't be surprised. I'm sure Ray will send a detailed breakdown of all his player weights if you ask

If possible A and B.

Although in some 2 RB formations the FB1 is actually the 'second' RB - Primarily as a lead blocker.

I often position my best blocking RB at FB1 or FB2 as well as RB2
