Practice squad

How about a seven guy list of players that once they see regular season action or get signed by another team are no longer available for the practice squad. Players on this squad retain there original contract(until changed of course) and also get the same practice benefits other rostered, but not played players get.

Maybe pointless but it would actually be less work for me in the long run. When signing and cutting UDRFAs that are fringe players the cutting part would be easier. I would build my roster to 60 in preseason and keep it there until changed by player desire.

Other RL positives might be the trading of these younger guys that still need years of developing. As the cap tightens under the salary demands moves like this can keep young talents contracts relatively low until they have proven they can hold down a position on some team. Or in a fringe bust i could eat his salary in a trade to recoup some value up until week 8 where right now he have to be moved 8 weeks earlier. Alot can happen in 8 weeks.

Still, this is reserved for at potenially best B grade players or depth so the importance is low in general, but think it would be more real and fun. Cause right now i can put a note on a player and hope i see that asterisk in FA or i am playing against him. Cool but not even close. This might be a little closer, and cooler if you could just go to Practice Squad players and see some of the young talent that is being coveted by teams throughout the league and try to out bid drafting gurus before they trade that equity.

Well i really wish we did have a practice squad where we have 7 or whatever NFL has for theirs.

In only you would think knowing that JDB added the opinion of the owner that he would also add the practice squad where it would go hand in hand with one another.

Because as it stands now if you cut a player most likely you wont be getting him back during the season if you have a injure that frees up a spot.

Though does matter if the players rating and how they felt about you before you cut them which i guess it would be possible to cut a player like before the 1st game and maybe get that player back in the 2nd game of the season if you had a early injure to free up a spot for that player.

Keep in mind PS players are essentially FAs. While they are associated with a team, they can be signed by other teams ..

This is primarily why I haven't implemented a practice squad (it's been talked about before) - it adds a level of complexity and potential confusion for minimal benefit.

That is the reason i went this way. It not quite the nfl but allows for more options with ease in our system. Only a option to tag them on the practice squad , so they get there practice in and are easy to find. You could just leave them in FA for all i care. Is there a place i can find my noted player? That would be close but i would still take the salary negs.

But, as a avid user and football player this move is commonsense. Though if already implemented i would probaly be complaining about the practice squad not having 10 spots . Ha .Then i would want to be able to take 63 to camp. Jk! A little. I wish i knew coding so i knew what i was actually suggesting in terms of what a work load it would be to code. But that probaly depends on alot too!

Wouldn't an additional benefit of a PS be that the players get to know the playbook and gain some degree of conditioning?
