I don't know how its currently set up but it seems pass rush isn't very important on blitzing players aside from block shedding and I think it should be also on angles to chase the QB and on avoiding blockers (including engaged ones). For example players who blitz like I often see on MFN and can slice between two engaged blockers close together have high pass rush, versus one with low pass rush would still be held up even if he isn't directly blocked. In reality players who are really bad pass rushers can struggle just being in proximity to blocked players and hesitating on how best to get around them and will almost never slice through tight holes in the O-line. They'll also take poor angles and get picked up by a blocking back more often. Also players with low pass rush are not as fast when blitzing due to uncertainty (even more prevalent in acceleration than speed). While slow players who have great pass rush ability "pin their ears back" and play much faster than mediocre or poor pass rushers. I think this could be a significant help to fixing the blitz issue. Because currently you can basically plug in basically a cover corner linebacker and he can blitz just as well as a high pass rush guy as long as he doesn't get blocked. This will make teams be more specific in what they can do. Correct me if I'm wrong please, its just something I noticed in a couple games.
