Because my time with MFN is rapidly approaching an end and i made it clear that my interest and participation was to help improve/make the game more realistic, i will now make some postings for the next few days evaluating the state of the game from the aspects of realism, enjoyment, and playability. I am concentrating mostly on the areas that still need improvements. I will say that overall the game is enjoyable and there had been some moderate improvements since i joined but the game still has a long way to go before it warrants perpetual participation.
1. In the interest of eliminating those 30 sack games a mechanic was introduced a few seasons back which allowed QBs to break free and throw ***** for completions, and also to have defensive players right in the face of QBs without a sack registering. This mechanic has gone entirely too far resulting in plays where a QB can be held in the grasp of several players simultaneously for seconds then break free and heave 70 yard TD strikes continually. Cute, but entirely unrealistic.
Those plays should be replaced by a lot more tipped passes, incompletions, and throw aways if the goal is to cut down on sacks while still keeping the game semi-realistic. Of late, MFN has strayed way too far into a Maddenesque realm.
