Since the game is modeled after the NFL, I'm not going to change the overtime rules unless they do. Outside of that, what factors would impact whether a game ends in a tie? If a team misses a field goal as OT expires, should the game engine change the outcome so that he made it? Should the game randomly give one team an advantage in OT? The seeding logic works correctly with ties, and as we are seeing in the NFL this year the newer overtime rules are finally resulting in more ties (that was my prediction when the changed them a few years back, I was always fine with the sudden death rules before that). The only real change (that you would be able to do with rules) is to go for the win instead of the tie when the other team made a field goal. My point is that you can do a higher risk game plan with rules that ultimately will eliminate the tie (at the expense of you reducing your chance to win), but I'm not going to have the AI make that decision.
