New account trade restrictions should be changed from 30 to 14days at worst. When taking over a team that had previous owners you don’t know what condition the team will be in. Not being able to trade for 30 days really limits what moves a new owner can make to improve a roster .
That's only for new acounts,
NOT when taking over additional teams.
You CAN check the teams BEFORE you chose which to take over by click them. Then you can see even details at each player.
The reason can be
1. as the other answer say to protect player from himself.
(I screwed up some myself in my first team anyway haha
2. And to protect leagues, trying to avoid more leagues to die by to many teams in them have got "impossible" death caps. (Such is solvable but take long time. Few players want to spend seasons to "clean up" mess made by other players, before they can start realy play themselves, I chosed one I knew HALF screwed up team myself, but that's only one of my teams, I would't want to play all teams like that.)
3. Reduce risk for cheating by new double fake acounts in same league as a cheating player have a team allready.
