Draft: Rounds 5,6 & 7

Could we have some more 'gems' in these rounds, unless you're looking for a kick holder I don't see the purpose of these rounds other than TC fodder to cut by game 1.
My other gripe is that when you do find a good'n they are so slow to develope that you can only realistically get 1 - 2 seasons out of them anyway .
Thanks :)

Gus' third gripe is that every time he drafts against me and a few other gem hunters, we beat him to the gems, so if you could just prevent that select few of us from drafting in the late rounds...

Isn't that then the problem with showing volatility?

I'm assuming that those players are the high volatility ones ..

If so, wouldn't everyone draft the 80+ or so volatility players to get those players?

On the rare occasion I even bother making my picks in rounds 5-7 I always go for the guys with the highest volatility.

Even if I get one that booms they still don't make my roster in most cases because (like Gus said) it takes forever for them to rise high enough to actually play.

I just drafted 3 high vol guys in rounds 6-7 of the 75 draft. I am interested to see if any of them improve enough in camp to make the cut. They might, but it would be because I only have 55 players on my roster and some of my backups are really awful.

The only value that 5, 6 and 7 has, is to make trades happen, but not to add value, merely jusy to make up the numbers.

depends on the league, i get a ton of great players in those rounds in public leagues. In league 75 the talent gets raided through the first few rounds and you're really scraping the barrel from the 5th on. I do think there should be some better talent at the bottom but sometimes i think the talent in the first is too good. It seems like the top guys come into the league and are already superstars each year.

In the pub leagues I could generally hit on most late round picks (if their vol cooperated), but as Bryson said, 75 is a whole different beast. That said, 'Mr. Irrelevant' this year is a player who could easily become a near perfect rated punter if his vol hits. Sadly I already have one of those on the roster, but you get my point.

In 75 There isn't one player that's not a kicker above 75 rating that comes out of rounds 5-7.

Looks as most 7th rounder are cut......same for sixth rounder and it seems a bit more fith rounders are kept on rosters. Speed and strength are too impactful......while technical ratings even with a boom does not account for enough success .

Hopefully this will change, but most if not all of 75s DROY canidates come out of the first two rounds of each draft. This say one thing to me...l.drafting is way too safe and easy.

Too high of ratings across the board combined with volatility being shown is the problem. Or speed and strength is overpowered ......better but not for players that play in space.

Any ideas about how talent would get pushed to the later rounds? It used to be more frequent when volatility was hidden, but people would just assume the later round talent wasn't worth keeping and so would not keep them around long enough to find out. That's why I added volatility to the player cards, so you'd at least know to watch those players with high volatility.

The only thing I can see as a possible solution is to have volatility move through a player's career, which is something I'm planning to add at some point. You also mentioned having improvements happen faster, but I'm leery of flooding the leagues with too much talent also.
