Yes, you will be able to re-sign a traded player in the final year of his contract (as long as it wasn't a 1-year deal).
How would one know if it was a 1yr deal?
Maybe have an asterisk on the contract for players that are under 1 year contracts

That's a good idea to push that info onto the trade screen - right now you can tell by looking at the player page and his contract will be in the transaction log.
