Sim logic is an oxy-moron

Instead of backing a team out of FG range by taking the penalty, we decline?

As if 4 second half turnover wasn't getting SIM burned enough...we go into a shell etc.
It is frustrating to have such whacky logic dinking and dunking with the clock running out :(

That's weird, there should be code to take the penalty in that situation. I'll look to see why it didn't fire.

The reason it didn't fire is because right now I have that logic only happening if you are in hurry up mode in which case your opponent scoring a field goal will put you in a bigger deficit - so in normal situations, you'll always send them to 4th down.

I'd like to open this for discussion, what types of game situations would you expect to let them have a 4th down and a field goal instead of 3rd down out of FG range? I'm thinking I might change it to any situation unless you are in hurry up and out of timeouts (in which case you want to get the ball back faster to conserve the time) or ahead by more than 3 points. Thoughts?

It would be awesome if decisions of when to accept/decline penalties were somehow configurable via the rules settings.

I second this opinion!
