I am willing to trade players for draft picks. Probably players that are 6+ years old.

Good Grief ...........Did all your players decide to make a pack and retire all the same time??

you lost like 23 players all at once.

only way that could have been worse is if all 53 players retired at the same time.

Hitman typically likes veteran players and has been very successful with that strategy, but there is always that chance that you get hit hard with retirements.

well cant blame him for going for veteran players because really it is probably better to build thru free agency with known players who you can tell are going to be turn out better as pros than maybe as busts awhile drafting players is really a hit and miss game you might get luck and get a player that turns out great awhile also you could also have that player turn in a bust .

I think even in real life sports NFL , MLB , NBA , etc. the most successful teams build thru the free agency and at times draft in positions they know they are going to have to replace a veteran.

Like Tom Brady that's why you see NE try to draft QBS to replace him not get a player off the free agency to fill that spot yet at the same time you see NE either get a player like Corey Dillon where if I remember correctly they get them from free agency and also where they get a player like Randy Moss where they trade their DRAFT PICK or Draft picks for that player.

They traded a 4th round pick for Moss, highway robbery really.

That trade was a big risk at the time. Moss was cancer and nobody wanted him. New England was his last chance and Billacheck had a long sitdown with him before the trade. The rest they say is history...

The fact you're trying to say a 4th round pick was a high risk for a Guy like Randy Moss is laughable. Especially if we're talking about him going to a team coached by Bill Belichick.

At that time it was. Go back and read the news, everybody and their dog thought that the Patriots were out of their mind giving up a 4th for a lazy piece of **** like Moss. But, I guess some folks like to rewrite history.

If I remember right the patriots recouped some of that trade value trading Moss back to the Vikings to retire. Why the Vikings gave up any pick for him at that point baffled me at the time.

Uhhhh....yep! But to quote Don James (former UW head football coach): We don't rebuild, we reload. ;-)

only way that could have been worse is if all 53 players retired at the same time.
