On December 5th, 2038, Jacques Rose threw a 75 yard TD pass on the first play from scrimmage in the 2nd half to become MFN-2's alltime passing leader in yardage. The TD pass, the 461st of his career moved him into 2nd place alltime in TD passes, and gave him 64,495 in passing yards which passed Wilbert Davis who stood at 64,447 yards.
Rose finished the game 16/30 in passing for 485 yards, 4 TDs and no interceptions. He sits at 64,670 yards for his career with veterans Sammy Chick (58,269) and Benjamin Tobin (51,712) the only active QBs anywhere near him on the leader board. Both Chick and Tobin are nearing the ends of there careers and in all probability wont play long enough to make a run at his record.
When Rose was asked about breaking the record and what it means to him, he said this:
"When I'm done playing, I'm sure the record will mean more to me then it does right now. My only focus is on winning games and securing a playoff spot so our team can achieve the ultimate goal of winning a championship. Without winning the game or making a successful run in the playoffs, this record doesnt mean much to me at the moment. We have gone 14-2 the last 2 seasons and come up short in the playoffs. Anything short of a championship will make this season, and any individual accomplishments meaningless in my mind"
