As the owner of KC, I just wanted to take a moment to note the retirement this off-season of one of the franchise's cornerstones, WR Peter Haygood. After picking up his second ring, he hung up his cleats, choosing to walk away with class while still at the top of his game. He spent 8 of his 10 seasons in KC, and retires as the league leader in both receptions at 881, and receiving yards at 14,642. At age 32, he had begun to lose some step, but still proved able to help boost up one of the league's top offenses, including a 126 yard performance in the championship game. The locker room this season will be lesser for want of his presence, not to mention the loss of his tireless production every Sunday.
