We are on pace to have at least four 6,000 yard passers... The passing game needs to be revisited.
My thoughts:
1. Increase effectiveness of pass rush.
2. Some sort of rating that impacts a QBs ability to throw accurately under pressure.
3. Ensure break tackle and tackle ability ratings actually matter.
Also, I think we're always going to have passing numbers that don't resemble real life for a lot of teams.
1. A lot of teams are thowing the ball more than in the NFL.
2. A much higher percentage of those throws are deep. Why not throw deep every play? You only need to connect on 1 out of 3. (not my strategy by the way)
3. There are a lot of open receivers due to poor defense (probably a bad play call). I'm sure there are times I've given up a long pass because I was in the wrong defensive play due to bad gameplanning. Or playing man when I should be playing zone because my DBs stink. This probably doesn't happen as often in the NFL.
