2028 Training Camps

One boom, one mini boom, and two hard busts. Overall a good camp for me.

Booms
+6 (my weights) C James Capps - The pass block potential means that this guy can back up either T spot too.
+4 QB John Dismukes - Complete surprise at a position I'm already set at. call me in two years if you need a QB.

Busts
-7 T Eduardo Noe - Such a disappointment. I need OL back ups.
-7 DT Cornelius Herron - Rinse and repeat. At least I have an established DL.

Mediocre Camp for me IMO, but hitting on both of my first rounders was pretty big.

1-22: RDE-#77 Jeff Bass (54/97)(+6/+2)
- Los Angeles came into the draft looking to address a massive weakness along the defensive line. Hitting on Jeff Bass with their first selection of the draft will go along ways towards that goal. Bass improved slightly in camp and looks to be everything they hoped he would be when they picked him. Of course it would have been nice to have gotten him with 100s in every physical attribute but considering the options on this team before, low 90s will do just fine.

1-29: QB-#7 James Mason (46/87)(+9/+4)
- Los Angles obviously had a considerable number of other areas on the team that needed to be addressed but with the weakness of their offensive line they wanted a mobile QB as their current starter Brian Massey is a bit of a statue in the pocket. Mason Showed great promise in camp booning nicely and looks to be the future at the position for LA. He'll get a considerable amount of time in the preseason to show what he's got.

2-22: FS-#54 Sherman Payne (48/72)(+11/-6)
- The team drafted the highly volatile Sherman Payne late in the 2nd round in the hopes that he could be grow into a star at the FS position with his great physical talent, unfortunately he seemed to be far worse than the team anticipated in training camp and looks to be a massive miss for the team.

2-23: LG-#74 Octavio Oates (34/67)(+3/-8)
- Oates was taken in the 2nd round in the hopes that he could address a weak spot along the offensive line and to help protect the rookie QB, after a very poor camp Oates may very well get cut at some point during the preseason as his pass blocking technique makes him completely unplayable.

-had a late 3rd round WR get a little better and he may be a decent WR 3/4 #81 Robby Terrell
-my other 3rd round busted and my 5th and 7th rounder showed very little to nothing in camp.

Basically my team is still a dumpster fire.

QB - I have a good rookie and basically Drew Bledsoe in his Dallas years
RB - Both my good RBs are fat and the 3rd is meh at best
FB - why even bother having one?
TE - lol
WR - One good WR, one decent WR and the rest ****
LT - Can a trade him for a blocking dummy
LG - 4th year 5th rounder is the starter... nuff said
C - he's decent, with the new engine and 73 pass blocking to go with 18 speed he'll probably give up a lot of sacks though
RG - 6th year ***
RT - HEY! signs of life! The 2nd rounder from last season might be a stud (if 14 speed doesn't mean a billion sacks in this new engine)

P - is it said my best player might be a punter?
K - decent, could have better kick accuracy

LDE - 1st rounder from last season is solid
DT - a last 5ht rounder could be one of two staters.... /facepalm
RDE - My 1st rounder this season could actually provide some hope on this line

Linebackers - this entire position group is a disaster, but hey I have the former 4th overall pick on the weakside (too bad he's a pretty big bust)

CB - Wilde converts from SS, he'll be pretty good, McAnulty is old but a decent man v man CB, the rest is underwelming

SS - Penrose converts from Linebacker, he should be pretty solid here

FS - Fabry was getting old and trading him might have been the right long term call, too bad the pick I got from him ended up busting (good decision, bad result).

As you can see dumpster fire 2028 is in full effect in LA.

We got a nice DT in the 2nd that bumped up a couple in camp. We are really old at DT so he will see the field a lot, if for no other reason, the other three are on oxygen.

Our RB was a bit of a disappointment as he dropped 4 in camp.

We got a RG with a 2nd 1st round pick and even though his volatility is a whopping 92, he didn't change in camp, which puts him at 52/95! Whew, I was worried.

We got a nice C in the 2nd and though he dropped a couple points, he is still very solid and should be a nice OL for many seasons

All in all, a decent camp

Mason only completed 40% of his passes today but I saw some very encouraging things out of him. He took only 5 sacks on 64 passing plays versus 5 sacks on 22 passing plays for the other QB. Mason also had 4 runs for 40 yards and a TD to go along with no turnovers.

Mahoney is going to be a statue in the pocket and take a **** load of sacks like my QB Massey.

Oh, right, preseason started today. I guess I should sign a new kicker. Oops.
