NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans football team continued its perfect start to the season with a decisive 37-7 victory over Chicago in a Week 6 regular season matchup. Under the leadership of head coach Wallace Cole, New Orleans improved to 6-0 while holding their division stance firmly in first place.

From the opening kickoff, New Orleans took control of the game. After winning the toss and electing to receive, quarterback Zachary Himes connected early with Philip Pusey for a 20-yard touchdown pass, setting the tone for the rest of the contest. Thomas Hernandez converted the extra point, giving New Orleans a 7-0 lead just under three minutes into the first quarter.

On their following possession, New Orleans continued to capitalize on Chicago’s defense. Running back Joseph Hall powered in a touchdown run, and Hernandez added the extra point to push the lead to 14-0. Chicago managed to mount a response in the second quarter when quarterback Jeremy Scholz hit Peter Pruett for a 21-yard touchdown, narrowing the gap to 14-7 after Hotchkiss's extra point.

However, New Orleans quickly regained momentum. Himes launched a 54-yard touchdown pass to Luis Hunt, and once again Hernandez converted the extra point. Later, Hernandez showed his range with successful field goals of 51 and 26 yards, increasing the lead to 27-7 before halftime.

In the second half, New Orleans continued to dominate the ground game. Hall finished the day with 112 rushing yards and 48 receiving yards, including one receiving touchdown. Pusey contributed 105 yards on the ground with an additional 25 receiving yards and a touchdown. Tight end Mark Vaughn added a rushing touchdown for New Orleans, showcasing the team's balanced offensive attack.

Zachary Himes had a standout performance, completing 22 of 33 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 11 yards. The New Orleans defense applied consistent pressure, recording two sacks and forcing a turnover, which helped keep Chicago’s offense in check.

Chicago struggled to find rhythm throughout the game. Their passing attack was limited to 161 yards and one touchdown, while their rushing unit netted negative yardage. The Chicago defense forced one fumble and intercepted one pass, but those efforts could not offset the offensive inefficiency.

Penalty discipline also favored New Orleans, who committed six penalties for 30 yards compared to Chicago's two penalties for 10 yards.

With this victory, New Orleans maintains a perfect record and holds the top spot in their division with a 1-0 division record. Chicago falls to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the division, dropping their current streak to one loss.

The win solidifies New Orleans’ position as a dominant force this season and highlights the efficiency of Coach Wallace Cole's team in both offensive execution and defensive resilience.
