Create League (Single Player Edition)

I've noticed in the road map that "create league" is a possibility in the future. I have been thinking that it would be nifty to be able to create a league in which you are the only human player and all the other teams are AI.

If this were to come to fruition I would imagine it being essentially the same as all the other leagues, except the individual who started the league acts as the commissioner of the entire league as well as an owner of one team. In a way, it would be a sort of MFN sandbox mode.

Some of the features I could foresee:
-Allowing trade among all other teams even though they would be AI.
-Setting a difficulty level among various aspects such as willingness of other owners to trade with you, abilities of other coaches to game plan, or just overall difficulty in general.
-Setting how much talent is in a draft.
-Being able to edit other team information like names, city locations, maybe even being able to edit the intelligence or skill level of the owners of other teams.
-A "create a player" feature where you could essentially create your own player and their skill sets, weight, height, name, and position, and they would drop into the draft or free agency.

There are probably a lot of other cool features that could be thought of but you get the gist.

I know this would take a lot and most likely would never happen; however, I do believe it would be a blast to be able to play "king" and run a league.

This would have to be a premium feature, what would you be willing to pay on a per season basis?

Before "buying in" I'd be curious to know if there would be new features in game setup. Would it be any different than it is now?

Could we choose our own playbooks?
Trade for coaches?
Relocate teams into different divisions?
Increase the number of pieces for trades?

- just some random off the wall examples ..

How is this for an idea? Set a fair, minimum Donation that can be exceeded. But have an 'average cost'. This way more people can get in for less, if guys really supportive want to put more in.

So if you need 60 People at 10 USD for it to be 'break even', set the Min to 10 USD. But guys could donate over that, maybe to the extent that you can offer 'Trials' for a discount. Or dump the extra into funding other Projects on the game.

Really there is a ton of 'Flavor' you could do for us that certain people would pay for. Not me, mind you... I really try to get the most out of my Free to Play (though when able I donate).

I know some places that do things like $1.00 for a cool border in the Forums... it's cheap, really easy to code in so not much cost, and something a lot of people can do for little money to add flair and support. Going with a fully customizable League you control... that's bound to draw some interest that is worth investing in, even in a Pre-Release phase.

I was actually going to comment on this being something that would take a little $$ to play, but quite honestly I'm not sure how much I would pay. I almost never pay to play on anything online as long as their is something free that is just as good. However, I would consider paying $5-10 to be able to do something like this. I know it would take a lot of work (and time) to do the programming, so I would agree to pay as I believe it would be a fair trade.

I would pay if I had control over the league, not just me vs 31 Ai teams.

If I could control who was invited/could join, control the sim schedule, customize team divisions/conferences/names/logos on a yearly basis, etc., then I'd be very interested.

I'd prefer to pay a larger sum for control over the league (including a "reset") indefinitely than to have to pay per season, but I would consider that too.

If I could invite other humans, and recoup some of the cost from them, I'd be willing to pay more. As for how much, that really depends on what was included and how much control I had.

I would definitely consider paying an amount similar to a "retail" game of this type for "ownership" of the league, not just one season.

I would prefer to do a one time payment over a seasonal charge.

The 'custom league' feature you may have seen in the road map is basically this, a premium feature where you pay essentially a one-time fee to create a new private (or public if you choose) league. It would still be under the same restrictions as far as needing to be at the proper threshold before any sims would run, but you would have control over all teams' names/logos/divison and conference names/etc. Even the ability to upload player files. That's the plan, anyway.

A private league that you are the only player of would have to be a premium feature on a per-season basis, but is something I'd be willing to entertain. I will not likely put it above the custom league feature in the roadmap, though.

Regarding putting things ahead, I am assuming this means if there is something we would want in the private league that it wouldn't take precedence over the free leagues?

I'm just worried about the whole "Well I'm paying for a league so I think my idea should take precedence ..." argument.
