Code of Conduct was broken a LONG time with a current owner.

EDIT: That owner hasn't logged on for a while. Probably on their 3rd profile at this point ..

Don't allow that person in your League. Problem solved.

For the sake of this post, I suggest 30 players as the cutoff point. I've had my teams down in the low 30's on rare occasions that I forget to sign expiring contracts.

Obviously you dont want a person like that in your league but when you dont realize what a problem an owner is beforehand.....and he slashes out and cuts the entire roster then abandons his team out of some sort of malicious attenpt to purposely damage a league.......a league admin should at the very least recieve some sort of notification that team "A" in league "B" is cutting 46 players during this sim and not signing any free agents......when this happens during week 15 of the season there is no rational explanation.

Then you contact JDB to fix the problem and your league is delayed for a few days while it is pushed back to the previous sim.

The bigger issue is nothing is done to that owner. Ive read the code of conduct thread multiple times but it has no teeth because basically I was told.....I know he is an a$$, most owners know he is an a$$ and if I bar him from the game he will just sign up with a different user name. He has a reputation so most owners wont deal with him.

For me, public leagues are pretty much dead, why invest time into a league that someone like that can join on a whim and mess with teams without any fear of consequences.

Honestly, I got the impression, I was free to retaliate in kind to his leagues because nothing will be done but I am not built like that. I wouldnt attack a league and cause problems for owners that have nothing to do with anything.

A thread was started, argued then locked without my knowledge until after it became locked to delay another league because of what happened to my league because the individual that sabotaged my league was admin of the other league. While I understand why an upset owner posted that, I never wanted that to happen and would have put a stop to it if I became aware of it fast enough. I was in the middle of an allocation draft and to be honest, I rarely check the suggetion box forum. Making a league of owners suffer consequences for the actions of one individual is wrong and not something I would endorse.

The only weapon I can use against someone like that is to ignore him and not allow him into any of my leagues. Im here to have fun, compete against some great owners and hopefully win.

This game is only as good as the owners you compete against. In my leagues, I try to build a sense of community, built on competition and sportsmanship.

Believe me when I say, "He should've been banned a LONG time ago." Unfortunately, the assessment of him just creating another account is likely.

As I stated earlier, "30 sounds like a good cutoff." If a GM isn't allowed to cut his team below 30 players, then that should help.

I'm certain there would be ways around that cutoff, if one such as this individual wanted to be patient. Idk if JDB could program a way to notify admins of such an issue as a massive purge of a team. That avenue would prove very beneficial.

Track the IP. Someone trashes once, 30 day suspension from MFN serv, auto generated league forum post. Admin, of course, can boot. Twice; permaban that IP # from MFN server.
Admin allocated minimum would also be sweet - as long as the admin could set minimums according to period of season (eos, fa, draft, late fa, camp pre-s, season).
Prolly a good idea if this avenue were persued, to allow the admin to make exceptions at any time for team recovery, established owners, etc).

There is also the 89% rule in the NFL - petty obvious we do not have it here - yet. it works on an average of 89% over 4 yrs, however.

updated. That's 2 I owe ya today, sir hheheheh
There is also this info regarding the 89%:
"Teams don’t have to spend their 89 percent every year, however. This requirement must be the average amount spent over the four year spending period. The current spending period started in 2017 and will continue through 2020.

In other words, the Bengals could have to spend 88 percent of their cap last year and this year, but would have to spend at least 90 percent over the next two years.

The second requirement is that the league as a whole must spend 95 percent of its total cap space. So the average percent of cap spending must come out to 95 percent every year, or the remaining money will be given to the players. This rule also applies over the course of the spending period."

From this article - a great read for some learning btw:

i think Colonel Failure said a way to do this which is below and it is on 2nd page of this thread

It just needs an admin brake.
If a team cuts more than [admin defined number] in one day, that team must be granted permission by the league admin to cut further.

I like this idea cause it forces you to keep you best players. The Raiders traded mack to open up cap . In mfn1 were way under the cap. It opens doors for even more non nfl roster moves through trades of picks .

Adding a maximum would stop from putting teams in cap trouble . I never go over, but never being forced to go out a pay anyone has that team a like half the nfl min.

This fits here cause at best a retaliating user could only cut a one or few legit players then the sim would block em. Same for over bidding . If you could only go 12% over a team would only get into so much trouble . The money is easily manipulated because defaults are off and there no minimum . Users get a boomer and instantly resign them? Irl he could break his leg. Not an nfl move at all.

Management would be tougher but easier if more warnings were put in to keep teams on track. This nfl minimum comes with the 51 rule and the ability the potential to use un used cap from the future . As the penalty for not meeting the finacial requirements is for the left over money to be distributed throughout your current contracts . None of that is here in mfn...well the redistribution of coach contracts is kinda like that .

Detailed and probably will take some coding but it's the end game result for me. Imo its the only way to go.

A mad user could cut 22 starters if 30 was the cut off. Better than all 50 guys, but with these set of rules the user and administration could be notified any time these thresholds are reached.

Both the minimum salary and maximum salary are not clearly calculated far enough in to the future to keep some teams on track here.

Too many times I see good owners build franchises and leave for the cpu to cut good players to make up for the lack this available cash four years down the rode.

I like this change to effectively curtail alot of missed management . Not just a mad users. Only cause the minimum will do all that.

Obviously if you have players retire to take you below the minimum the AI wouldn't fill your roster, this limitation would only apply to cutting players. With that in mind, do you cut down to 30 players or does your roster go down to 30 due to retirements/contract expiration? If you are cutting down to 30, especially during the free agency stages, I'm curious to know if you would still be able to accomplish your goals without being able to cut that low.

Any timetable for this being put into place

Problem arose again in another league ( National Football League )

this team cut all 57 players = https://nfl-league.myfootballnow.com/team/17
information = https://nfl-league.myfootballnow.com/forums/1/338?page=1#704

they didnt touch the coaching staff and NO it wasnt the person who did it in USFL/WFL and XFL
