I have respect for KOB, this league, and this game. KOB seems like a nice guy and runs his team and gameplans well. Personally I don't feel KOB cheated or rigged anything. He just takes advantage of people who don't know what they're doing. Over the past several seasons, Pittsburgh's owner has made poor decision after poor decision. It's obvious he doesn't know what he's doing. It's not against the rules to offer unfair or lopsided trade offers to these uninformed owners. The main protection uninformed owners have against this is to ask more experienced owners for advice, but if you were counting on the 3 year consecutive champ for good advice, you might want to look elsewhere.
This may be within the rules to take advantage of uninformed owners, but I feel it is against the spirit of the game. This is a football management sim, which should play out
somewhat similar to running a professional team in real league. In real life, no Owner/GM/Coach would run their team as poorly as Pittsburgh and maintain control over several seasons. Even Jerry Jones would take a step back with results like Pittsburghs. No team would
ever move down 30 spots in the first round to gain a few low round picks. No team would
ever trade away their future first and second round picks during a rebuild(let alone for a few low round picks).
I understand that there isn't much we can do to prevent this type of thing. New owners are gonna join leagues, and some are gonna get ripped off eventually. This is a part of the game and I like that we have this freedom, but I wish there was a way to let other owners know that someone is doing this BEFOREHAND. I guarantee other owners would of given better offers had they known Pittsburgh was willing to part with all their picks for the next 3 years. I know I would of given a better offer than KOB, but it can be tiresome sending 32 trade offers or messages trying to find a trade partner. I suppose I could just target the uninformed owners instead with poor offers, but I know it would make me feel bad ripping people off, even if it's over the internet in a silly football game. At the end of the day if KOB feels good about what he's doing, who am I to judge? I just know I wouldn't feel good winning that way...
